The idea behind the image
Gold of Time draws on family memory, heritage and the grandchildren’s relationship with their grandmother’s presence. A rocking chair becomes a dramatic sign of her even when she is absent. Objects help generate the scene and its meaning.
Direction and transitions
The direction considers how dialogue, music, movement and dance connect. Blocking, entrances and timing support transitions with a purpose in the story, maintaining continuity between scenes.
Scenery as part of the story
The chair, fabric and elements of an old home create a vocabulary of place and memory. Their relationship to the performance area, audience sightlines, lighting and movement informs the design. Ameer’s experience includes stage scenery and small and large festivals, shaped by site and production needs.
From stage to promotion
The poster and digital teaser extend the theatrical concept. The displayed material is a visual development sample; the scope described here also covers concept, direction and the stage environment. Original production photographs can document executed scenery when available.
